I was presented with a thought-provoking query once.I’ll let you ponder it and share your answers in the comments. The query is, “What’s a five-letter term forsomething that’s tough to obtain but simple to forfeit?”(It begins with T.)
There was a time when I was working, and a buddy approached me to inquire if I’d beattending the office celebration. I replied that I couldn’t because I had work to finish. He said that was cool and mentioned he was going. I wished him an enjoyable time, and off he went. Later, I made a call to a woman I fancied and wanted to ask out. She also asked if I wasgoing to the office party, to which I replied no, due to work commitments. She informed me she’d be attending and hung up shortly after. I was aware she had feelings for me since we had gone out a few times before. A week later, I inquired with my friend about how the party went. He told me it was a blast and that he even spent the night with a woman he met. I was astonished and replied, what a wild evening! We resumed our work afterward. That night, I decided to drop by the bar post-work. While seated, my friend walked in with a lady. He was about to introduce us when she recognized me and exclaimed my name. I responded with her name and asked what she was doing there. She merely gazed atme. Do you two know one another? he answered, yes,I said that’s my soon-to-be ex-girlfriend. he appeared stunned, and she hurried him away.
Now, do you know the answer to the riddle? I do, because once it’sacquired, it can vanish that quickly.
